J Hotel, Shanghai Tower

The hotel itself is very good, but the view from the window does not match the photos at all. There is another window behind the one you look out of, and the whole effect of the city view is lost. In other words, you shouldn't expect fantastic views of Shanghai. These views can only be seen from the floor where the reception is located. The rooms themselves are good, all new.

The exceptional service, room, shower, bed, views, food, drinks, location, staff, cleanliness…everything.

Grand suite was amazing.. treated like royals, even indoor foot slippers were changed everyday all 6 days.beyond imagination...., zero error... thanks a lot

Our stay at J Hotel Shanghai was perfect from the very first moment we stepped in. The atmosphere and the attention to detail made us feel instantly cared for. Every aspect of the hotel radiates thoughtfulness and elegance.Breakfast was absolutely outstanding, both in variety and quality. The views from the hotel are breathtaking, and we were fortunate to enjoy a guided tour with Eve, who was simply wonderful. Not only she showed great knowledge about all the details in the hotel design and vision, but she was also extremely kind and dedicated to giving us attention and making this a memorable stay. It is rare to experience such a seamless combination of luxury, care, and warmth. J Hotel Shanghai exceeded every expectation, and we cannot wait to return.

I stayed in the J hotel for three nights. It was an amazing experience. It exceeds my expectations for a hotel in all aspects. I strongly believe that whoever travels to Shanghai, as long as financially capable, staying in this hotel is a must. Otherwise, the trip to Shanghai would not be considered complete, and you will regret it.

The breakfast was excellent. The variety and quality of the food were all exceptional. Only suggestion is I hope there will be oatmeal, although you can order on the spot.

I simply had an exceptional stay. This hotel deserves more than 5* rates. Attentive, extremely helpful staff, ready to go extra mile to help you. My Thanks also to my personal butler Alex , who always went an extra mile . The Building of J Hotel , The Shanghai Tower speaks for themselves. It’s a piece of art. The Hotel have absolutely everything. Comfort, Clean, Hospitality, Art, Location, Breakfast and Afternoon Tea. The room are so spacious and very modern. I especially want to thank you for the surprise that was waiting for me in my room. A cake with a dedication for my birthday. It made my day even more special.

Nothing. Everything was just perfect

For the price you pay here, compared to the Hyatt across from you, the value it’s not there, the staff completely does t want to help you, you speak to them in English they shrug you off like you don’t belong there, no one speaks English but managers, what is the point of having employees who are not bilingual in a hotel that’s in the tallest building in Shanghai I would be ashamed of such thing. This should be the nicest place the best service the best experience we paid a lot of money to stay here to be treated like we are like crap I am very disappointed.

Breakfast is served in tiny pretentious portions, their flavor does not match expectations.SPA was closed during my stay so no massages. no facilities except pool, no sauna, no jacuzzi no anything for relaxation. nothing to do in the hotel. very expensive and in the end you only get a good view and nothing more for the price.

J hotel has great location which can overlook whole Shanghai. The hotel offers free afternoon tea that has variety choices. Every room has picture windows from which can see the whole Shanghai. Bed and pillows are soft and comfortable. Breakfast is extraordinary, having both buffet and À la carte choices. The foods have Michelin 3 star quality, tasty and exquisite. I will choose J hotel whenever I go to Shanghai again.

All doors of bathroom are transparent, including toilet and shower room, lack of privacy. There is no difference between having a door and without a door.

The story of the property. Staff are professional and attentive. The views are unforgettable and gorgeous.

Gym facilities are little bit disappointed. Pool is small and some of the workout machine computers are not working.

Attentive, extremely helpful staff. Yi lounge staff shout-out (thankyou Robbie!) are very friendly and full of great Shanghai recommendations. Pretentious to a fault, beautiful city views, pure luxury and soundproof rooms. Better sleep than your own home. Highly recommend. Do I have to checkout?

Location and building

Double facade and tinted windows which makes all views vanished. And extremely poor butler service. Basically they don’t have it at all!

I loved EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!??????????‍⬛!The room and staff services are excellent. Met our expectations and enhanced our holiday experiences in China Shanghai.

Consider install auto froze the toilet door as its transparent glass see through all the time. Not pleasant members can see you poo.

The bed! The bed is too high and not that comfortable. The duvet is too thick.

Comfort, Hospitality, Clean, Artistry, location,Breakfast and Afternoon Tea~~~almost everything. Please don't miss the Hotel tour, It's really worth to spend some time to explore. While our Senior Personal Butler Alex Liu did an awesome job. He helped us to arrange the special setting and celebration for my Daddy's 86th Birthday. Such a wonderful experience! We really appreciate the hospitality from J.
